Snowdrift.coop is a new sustainable funding platform designed to help coordinate communities of patrons to support freely-licensed projects of all sorts. The system combines the mutual assurance of threshold crowdfunding with the long-term, ongoing, and flexible style of subscription donations. This talk will cover details about the concept, current progress, and insights about the challenges of building a robust web platform entirely with free/libre/open software.
