Virtuozzo Core, OpenVZ Project Update
OpenVZ has been around since 2005 and is a third-party patch to the Linux kernel that provides advanced container features. In Dec. 2014 the OpenVZ Project accounced they will be transitioning OpenVZ to become Virtuozzo Core in an effort to bring closer together the historically diverging OpenVZ Project with the commercial Parallels Cloud Server. In early 2015 a RHEL 7-based Virtuozzo Core kernel (3.10.x-based) should be released bringing with it new features. This presentation will provide an introduction to OpenVZ and Virtuozzo Core with an emphasis on what's new and how VC is still an important player in the Linux container arena. A hands-on demo will also be provided.
