I had been a Windows user for over 20 years, but last February I made the switch to Linux. While things are still new, I want to give a “fresh eyes” take on my experience.

Here are some questions I am going to answer:

• Why I left Windows after 20+ years.
• How I prepared for the full move to Linux
• I tested 4 flavors of Linux, I settled on 2. As a new user, I will explain how I made my decision.
• I will identify some of the challenges I faced and what I did to get past them.
• What resources I found useful as a new user.
• What I really like and what I hate about Linux and my chosen flavor(s).
