For years we used virtual machines and configuration management tools for duplicating environments. How about something much lighter weight? To make spinning up new environments faster and easier we went with Docker.
This talk will introduce Docker and how it can be used in a software development environment to ensure a minimum of time spent setting up an environment across a distibuted team. These same techniques can be used for isolating software installations on local machines.
We will discuss Docker's featureset and briefly touch on upcoming production functions like Machine, Swarm, and Compose.
