Accessibility and Fault Tolerance -- Cat Proof Computing
I have helped many friends with their computers. Now I am considering starting a business helping people start using computers.
I have a set of opinions about UI settings that I am about to become vocal over. I have crafted a prototype Live Linux Distro and based it on KDE Plasma 4 on Kubuntu.
I would like more help to make it better. And I would like to start distributing it.
Some of my concepts are: Keep a frame of reference, reduce scrolling, and have a friendly path back to a known state.
I am promoting:
* use of the ESC key as a way to get to a known state.
* use of the right click menu to explore options.
* use of the keyboard as a fully functional input method.
* Touch screens.
* Uncluttered interfaces.
* High contrast, easily discernable words and icons.
